Major Transport Company – Moorebank Logistics Park (Related to Security Risk Assessment Services)

Moorebank logistics park is Australia’s largest freight infrastructure project and will link port botany direct to rail terminals and warehousing on a 243-hectare site. The precinct has the capacity to transport up to 1.05 million TEU (twenty-foot equivalent units) a year of Import- Export freight and another 0.5 million TEU of interstate freight per year.
Moorebank Logistics Park will have 850,000sqm of high specification warehousing, as well as auxiliary services including retail and service offerings.
A rail connection to the Southern Sydney Freight Line (SSFL) is being constructed which has direct access to the site, while the M5 and M7 arterial roads are only minutes away, providing a complete supply chain solution driving savings in time and costs for onsite tenants.
Tremac were engaged to carry out a Security Risk Review of the site and then develop a Security Plan that could be implemented over the course of the project.
The provision of robust physical security measures for the Park environment was crucial to maintain integrity of reputation and the confidence of tenants and stakeholders.
The staged development of the Park necessitated some flexibility in the design and implementation of physical security technology and security processes. Security environments provide the best protection when they utilise the globally recognised strategy of security in depth. In the case of Moorebank Park we made recommendations around a layered strategy which utilised physical perimeter controls, inner protection through CCTV and access control systems all supported by effective site lighting and backed up with an onsite security manpower presence operating out of a central command point with the ability to rapidly deploy as required across all areas of the Park.
Tremac completed a full review of the project which included a complete and detailed Security Risk Review which was complimented by a Security Plan detailing the security strategy for the short and long term objectives of the project with a view to reassess every six months.
